Terahertz Imaging & Sensing

High-throughput terahertz imaging and intelligent single-pixel sensing

Terahertz waves penetrate many visually opaque materials, making them attractive for security screening and non-destructive inspection. With collaborators in the Jarrahi and Ozcan groups at UCLA, I work on high-throughput terahertz imaging (Light: Science & Applications, 2023), rapid sensing of hidden objects with single-pixel diffractive terahertz sensors (Nature Communications, 2023), and detection and imaging of chemicals and hidden explosives using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and deep learning (Light: Science & Applications, 2026).
